CDM 2015 Principal Designer
IDS only provides CDM-Principal Designer service in relation to demolition & decommissioning projects because we firmly believe decommissioning and demolition is a specialist service in its own right. It is distinct from the construction/build role in many regards but particulalrly with the knowledge and experience required to identify and mitigate risks associated with demolition works on high hazard sites found in the petrochemical, nuclear, oil&gas and pharmaceutical industries.
To ensure that your project meets not only the requirements and duties of CDM 2015 our experience and in-house knowledge can guide clients through the requirements of BS 6187; Code of Practice for Demolition 2011 and also the duties imposed on clients by the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, and ensure contractor compliance throughout the project.
We always endeavour to make safety the "key business driver" but we also find that our early involvement can also lead to significant savings for clients by:
Contract and Project Management Services
IDS can provide all aspects of contract administration for your project. From the earliest phase in the process we can guide the client through the necessary legal requirements, consents and permissions. We can help decide on the best contractual framework for the project and offer a full suite of services to identify the best suited contractors to invite to tender for your work.
We will ensure that the contractors chosen to tender any project are competent and experienced in the type of work to be carried out through a thourough pre-qualification process. We will develop a detailed scope of work to enable the contractor to identify the exact requirements of the job from the outset therefore reducing the chance of additional costs through contractural variations or compensation events.
The development of a robust specification, tailored to the clients requirements will ensure the contractor is fully informed on site restrictions, client specific working practices and safety protocols. The added value of these front end tasks is the appointment of a contractor best placed to meet the project specific requirments, armed with all the information they need in terms of scope and project execution standards.
